With the film version of Sex And The City hitting theaters at the end of the month, it got me thinking about shoes. Why is it that some women are obsessed with owning the latest designer labels, while many of us just want to keep our feet protected from the elements? As an astrologer it's innate in me to question why a person does what they do.
When it comes to the art of shoe wearing, my logic tells me it's more about our how we feel about shoes than how we think about them. I therefore feel wearing the right shoe is more about our moon sign then our sun sign. Case in point, I am a Libra with a Leo rising, with this combination I should own a thousand pair of designer shoes. However, with my Virgo moon, to me, when I shop for a pair of shoes, it's all about being practical. I don't need a closet full of shoes that is going to give me more to clean up around. Below is a guide to what your moon sign reveals about your shoe fetish.
Aries:
Since the sign of Aries is known for their "me first" attitude, these folks want to be the first in line when the new Manolo Blahnik's hit the shelves. They may not camp out in front of the store for days, but they would hire someone to do so.
Taurus:
Those with their moon in Taurus want the very best of everything and are willing to spend a fortune showing off their latest design. Not only are they looking to add to their mounted number of possessions, the endless pairs of shoes they purchase must add to their feeling of material comfort.
Gemini:
These Gemini moon babies will buy a pair of shoes that are funky and hip just to get people talking about them. They'll do anything to start a conversation.
Cancer:
Since crab moon people love the beach and walking in the sand, you'll find their closet loaded with flip flops in every style and color.
Leo:
Leo moons want to show off their newest purchase and will not be caught dead wearing the same pair of shoes twice. For them every new outfit must include its own pair of shoes.
Virgo:
Practical, practical, practical. A Virgo moon person will always question whether or not they really need that new pair of shoes. They will own and wear the same pair of comfortable shoes for years as long as they remain in perfect condition.
Libra:
Those with their moon in Libra want to feel pretty and sexy all of the time and will often be seen wearing four inch stilettos even at the grocery store.
Scorpio:
Those with a Scorpio moon sign probably don't think much about shoes until they have to make some kind of impact. Whether they're attending the holiday office party or a loved one's funeral, picking out the right shoe to make a statement is essential.
Sagittarius:
'Shop until you drop" is the motto for Sagittarius shoe-moonsters. Their closets are filled with hundreds of shoes, many of which they've never worn. It's the fun of knowing they own all of the shoes and bragging to the world about them is why they have such an extensive shoe collection.
Capricorn:
Shoes, who needs shoes? But if those born under a Capricorn moon have to wear them, they better not cost a lot, and they must be comfortable and practical for work, work, work.
Aquarius:
Aquarian moon risers were probably the first in line to purchase Air Jordan's. It not so much about needing to have the best of everything, but more about showing off the latest technology that will enhance their ability to run, jump and climb.
Pisces:
Those with a Piscean moon go all out for comfort when deciding on a new pair of shoes. Since Pisces rules the feet, it's only natural for them to think about how their feet will feel and how they can be protected against damage caused by wearing the wrong shoe.
Most of us know where the sun was during the month of our birth, but few of us know where the moon was traveling. The sun which describes our personality, changes astrological signs approximately every 30 days, whereas the moon changes signs approximately every 2 1/2 days. In astrology the moon represents our emotions, instincts and how we feel about things.
Knowing where your moon sign will allow you to understand yourself on a more subconscious and even unconscious level. The moon depicts how we react to our environment and how we systematically go about our day. If you really want to understand yourself more deeply, discover your moon sign.

Going on a first date is daunting enough, but then you have to worry if your potential partner's for real and sharing the truth about their being, or on their best behavior and masking less attractive qualities. Sure we all want to make a first good impression, but knowing your date's sun sign may help you navigate the dating minefield and figure out how genuine your date is being. Water sign dates may spill their emotions, whereas fire signs may hide behind little white lies, and dramatize their life because they want you to know how fantastic the world feels about them. In order to gain a bit of insight, here's a list of how truths may be told by zodiac sign.
Leo
If anyone can put a shine on the bad news, it's Leo! Yet their fibs are usually of the little white variety. Still, take their stories with a grain of salt. The Lion loves to exaggerate and rewrite events to make things seem glamorous and exciting. They also tend to brag. They can't help it. They have a natural flair for theater. Stroke their mane (ego) and just go with it.
Virgo
The hush-hush on Virgo is that they're never satisfied. Alas, these cerebral creatures believe that nothing is ever good enough. They can't help it, they're perfectionists. That's the reason they're so meticulously put together. With perfectionism also comes the tendency to over analyze and nit-pick. So don't take their criticisms personally, it's what they do. The best advice is to roll with the punches. It will help you develop a thick emotional skin. Besides, they usually only tell you the truth, so you might learn something if you don't internalize it too much.
Libra
Your Libra may seem really eager to be your lover. It's because they always want to be in a relationship. The caveat here is that they're also afraid to commit, because the grass is always greener somewhere else. Worse still, you'll never know something's wrong because these diplomats smile even when they're seething inside. Did I hear someone say passive aggressive? But, of course, they're charming and beautiful, too. So, if you like a Libra, create balance and above all else, don't be too clingy.
Scorpio
Ah yes, Scorpio. Their secret is that they have lots of secrets and they'll never reveal them to you. They like their privacy. Unless, of course, you lead by example; The more you reveal to them, the more comfortable they'll be revealing things to you. Prying won't help. At all. Go deep, or go home.
Sagittarius
The undisclosed information about the archer is that there is no undisclosed information. They're open books and can be honest to a fault. This tendency can mean that the Sagittarius in your life has no tact. They also love to put their head in the sand. This is exacerbated by the fact that this fire sign has a little problem with discipline and focus. They often can behave in a careless and irresponsible way. In other words, bring protection.
Capricorn
Capricorn is sometimes perceived as icy cold. But secretly they really care what other people think about them. They work very hard to achieve their desires but they don't necessarily want you to know how they've reached the top of the mountain. And they don't let loose very often. Goats are serious-minded folks. Anything less than educational may be considered outright frivolous in their book.
Aquarius
The old adage here is that Aquarians love humanity but hate people. Secretly, they're a little snobby because they march to their own drum. They scream out "NO" to tradition, so don't expect them to live behind a white picket fence. They're ruled by Uranus, which makes them natural born rebels. So, if you're getting involved, know that they will not live (or fight) by any standards other than their own.
Pisces
It may be the case that the Piscean in your life hasn't successfully integrated their spiritual life with the physical world. More than any other sign, the fish is the one with a proclivity for escaping. Meaning, they may be hiding from some type of addiction, be it food, books, television, drugs, sex, or even themselves. They're also incredibly sensitive, but that's not really a secret.
Aries
There's a reason why Aries comes off as a battering ram, it's because deep inside they're really scared. Yup, that's right! This impetuous and fiery creature, who is always ready for action is actually afraid. Which explains their temper. It serves as both a weapon and a shield. They'll never admit it of course, but deep inside Aries knows they could benefit from anger management classes and a little therapy. If you're going to engage in a romance with this hot head, make sure you know how to stand your ground. And keep them entertained too. They like to pick fights when bored.
Taurus
Your new bull won't tell you this, but secretly, Taurus wants to be taken care of. They inherently crave security, it's in their bullheaded bones, which can make them a little greedy. At their worst, these earth-bound animals are gold diggers. Their insecurity could also make them hoarders or pack rats. Fortunately however, they're also very sensible, so they may know that true security comes from within. But just to be sure, look under the mattress for the stash!
Gemini
These hyper twins are secretly schizophrenics. They have a double personality so you'll never know who is going to walk through that door. Is it going to be the soft reserved person you met at the post office last month or a wild child ready to act out? On top of that, they regularly play devil's advocate with themselves so they don't even know which path they're going to take. The fork in the road is just too confusing.
Cancer
Bring out the violins and the tissues. Crabs can be big cry babies. That's right, wah, wah, wah! This water sign is all about taking care of their emotional needs. So, they can be very, very insecure. Other than crying, they can also cling, smother and require constant reassurance. So don't be surprised if the phone always rings. To curb this tendency, let them take care of you. They love to nurture. Or you can always buy them a puppy.
Whether it's the 'me first' attitude of an Aries or the workaholic nature of a Capricorn, we all have annoying little habits that can drive our partner or friends crazy. If we know what we are getting in to in advance it's a lot easier to play nice and not allow someone's usual behavior to drive us away. So before you throw in the towel on your relationship or jump into a new one, read more about your partner's sign sun to know first hand what annoying little habits come with the package.
Aries: Always First in Line!
Aggressive rams like to be first. To that end, they have a habit of pushing to the front of the line in everything they do - quite literally. While Aries' aggressiveness can lead to their successes, it can also compromise their relationships. Experts suggest tapping into the ram's more nurturing side. Give your Aries an animal or plant and see their selfishness subside.
Taurus: Too Trashy!
Ever known a hoarder? Odds are good the person was a Taurus. Being surrounded by all of their worldly possessions gives bulls a sense of security, but for those who share their space, it's chaotic. To strike a happy medium, Taureans should go for storage systems that keep their stuff on display. Stacking baskets, glass jars, and open shelving can promote organization whilst letting the stubborn bull see the possessions that allow them to feel so at home.
Gemini: Chew on This!
Whoever said idle hands are the devil's plaything was probably a Gemini. Since the twins like to keep their hands busy at all times, it's no surprise that they're the nail biters of the zodiac. So if you know a Gemini (or are a Gemini) who had a tendency to bite, get in on the knitting craze. Try carving or bead work. And for goodness sake, get manicures - even if you're a guy! Tending to your hands will help you keep nail gnawing temptation at bay.
Cancer: Sweet Surprise!
Sure, they're some of the sweetest people in the zodiac... but how do you think Cancers got that way? Sugar of course! Perhaps to ward off crankiness, crabs love cookies, candy and ice cream. But while tempered indulgence is a-okay, too much dessert can take a toll on waist lines and energy levels. Experts say however, that what Crabs are really after is oral gratification. Gnawing on health snacks like dried fruit and sugarless gum should do the trick.
Leo: Showing You The Money!
In fact, Leos show everyone the money - and that doesn't have to mean cash. Whatever the Lion's got is on display at center stage. And while it's only natural that a sign so blessed with creativity and charm would like to share their wares, the insecurity from which the desire to be in the spotlight at all times can be draining. Astrologers advise that learning to compliment others will bring Leos the praise they crave and move them off the most obnoxious list!
Virgos: Neat Freak!
Cleanliness is nice. Some say it's even next to godliness. Certainly a Virgo coined that phrase! The nit-picky Virgin sometimes compromises their own pleasure for the sake of perfection. But Virgo needs to learn that feeling good trumps looking good any day. By making time for a few minutes of messy fun each day (try baking, painting or sculpting), experts say Virgos can overcome their fear of filth and learn to love the messier aspects of life - in moderation of course!
Libra: Shop 'Til We All Drop!
If you're around a Libra for long, you'll realize that shopping addiction is a very real thing. Inspiration for the term "shopaholic," these folks have every credit card in the book. Blessed with undeniably impeccable taste, their penchant for the finer things isn't necessarily troublesome, though it can get them in trouble at bankruptcy court. Word is however, that what's really at stake here is a quest for beauty. Simple but inexpensive pleasures like nature walks and museums can quell the balance seekers' urge to splurge.
Scorpio: Stinging Resentment!
If you hurt a Scorpio, on purpose or even without meaning to, you may have an enemy for life. No one carries a grudge better than a scorpion, whose unfortunate tendency to cling to resentments sometimes crowds out room for love, happiness, and trust. Self-care is key for this stinging sign who can learn to let go of a grudge by softening their hearts. Getting a massage every month or writing in a journal each day will do a lot to enable forgiveness.
Sagittarius: Ouch! Honesty Hurts!
The archer sure knows how to hit a bull's eye - only sometimes the target may be your soft spot! Known for their habit of merciless truth telling, even the most well-intentioned Sag will miss the mark with inappropriate comments on occasion, so don't say we didn't warn you when you ask a Sagittarius if your butt looks fat in a pair of jeans. But all hope is not lost, as archers are also quick studies, and the best way for them to cultivate tact is by hitting the books. Study up on Miss Manners and even the most honest archers will be able to discern when keeping their mouths shut would be the optimal option.
Capricorns: Work, Work, Work!
Hard work is good work according to the goat, who is, undoubtedly, the original workaholic. Afraid to loosen up for fear that poverty will set in as soon as they stop working, Capricorn's best cure for this tendency is learning to appreciate their non-material blessings. Astrologers suggest keeping a gratitude journal and enjoying even just a few minutes a day of relaxation/reflection or meditation. By learning to appreciate the present, goats can stop cutting vacations short for the sake of work!
Aquarius: Social Distortion!
Independence is a virtue... sort of! Water-bearers get into the habit of creating completely self-sufficient lives, making it difficult for them to achieve intimacy. Afraid that relationships will compromise their independence this means they sometimes have an aversion to settling down. Fortunately, experimentation is a true Aquarian love, so treating intimacy as an exercise will allow the Water-bearer to relinquish control and partake in relationships.
Pisces: Drowning Sorrows!
It's to be expected that the fish loves liquids. But when those liquids have a high alcohol content, problems can ensue for the sensitive Piscean. Naturally, a twelve-step program can be of enormous benefit here. But before things get that far, meditation and yoga are especially worthwhile for Pisces as they allow the fish to achieve a healthy sense of nirvana. In the end, that's all these dreamers are really after!

You were born a Taurus, but you exhibit more of the flightiness of an Aries than an obstinate bull. Maybe you're supposed to be a chatty Sagittarius, but boy do you brood like a scorpion. Not everyone identifies entirely with their Sun sign, and one of the reasons why is already written in the stars. It's a 13th sign!
Number 13
For the sake of simplicity and neat mathematics, 2300 years ago, astrologers divided the Sun's path into 12 neat slices affording each constellation 30° of the heavens. That's all well and good, but some constellations are far larger than others, and they left someone out! Ophiuchus (funny name, we'll get to that later) is the forgotten sign of the zodiac. We know that astrologers (all the way back to the days of Ptolemy) knew about Ophiuchus, however, due to the ever changing heavens, the sky we see today isn't the same as the skies of yesteryear.
Enter Ophiuchus
Taking up 18° of the Sun's path, and sitting comfortably between Scorpio and Sagittarius is Ophiuchus (O-fee-Yoo-cuss). According to Greek tradition, Ophiuchus (a.k.a. Serpentarius, the serpent bearer) was Asclepius, the half mortal son of Apollo. After killing Asclepius' mother in a vengeful rage, Apollo sent the boy to be raised by Chiron. Chiron taught Asclepius the secrets of healing and medicine. Worried that Asclepius' knowledge would lead to the immortality of humans, Zeus killed Asclepius and gave him a place in the heavens as thanks for his noble deeds.
True empathy
Those born between November 29 and December 17 may see in themselves a natural empathy toward others and are particularly drawn to the healing of the mind, body and soul. They are kind to the point of naïveté and are blessed with dramatic powers, this however can be to their detriment if they allow themselves to empathize too much with the pain of others.
Star power
Some notables born under Ophiuchus: Winston Churchill, Woody Allen, Jim Morrison, Walt Disney, Jane Austen, Bette Midler, Ludwig van Beethoven and Emily Dickinson.
Now that the myth of the 13th sign has been dispelled, it doesn't mean that you aren't the same person that you were before. It's important to remember that while our Sun sign tells us something about our ego, we were born with all of the planets in our charts, and therefore have a little bit of everything in us all at once!
Is it a wink or a smile or an accidental touch of the breast that will grab your attention? Flirting comes in all forms, but how do you know if your subtle suggestions will produce a phone number or result in a slap? Each sun sign has an air about them on how they express their flirty side. Learn more about what you can to express yourself or how to approach a certain sun sign with our quick by sign reference guide.
Aries
You aren't afraid to assert your sexiness - brash and brainy is your flirting style! When you set your sights on a hottie, you want them to know you're interested. With a mixture of braininess and naughtiness, you don't (usually) hesitate to instigate a flirtatious tryst. Your confidence is your strength and what attracts admirers to you. Of course, some people will be bowled over by your direct approach, but no Aries wants to hook up with a wimp - so be yourself and find a partner who appreciates your gutsy style.
Taurus
Sweet and sensual, that's your flirting style. Fingertips lightly caressing your sweetie's palm, along with a subtle sigh are enough to make them want to pull you into a more, well, intimate embrace. Mainly, you need to know what the person feels like, even before you engage their brain in any meaningful way. After all, you're an instinctual soul. And your instincts are usually spot on. Your sensual vibe is so strong that you don't often need to make the first move, which is fine with you. Just send out the signals and be prepared for action!
Gemini
Wit and repartee are your flirting strengths. No one attracts more admirers for their way with words than a Gemini. Your mixture of intelligence and sassiness make you hard to resist. Mainly, you need someone who can engage your mind as well as your body, or else you'll get bored in no time flat. So anyone who can keep up with you mentally is in the running. Also, Gemini rules the hands and arms, so using graceful hand gestures to augment your flirting will intensify your sexiness.
Have you ever been instantly attracted to someone and then wondered what you could do to have a little fun and pleasure your new fantasy partner? It might take some of the guesswork out of things if you knew their sun sign.
With an Aries you can start at the head and literally work your way down to the toes with a Pisces. Touching a Cancer on the stomach or breasts will have them purring in your hands. Turning a feisty Sagittarius on is all about the inner thighs while you work your way to pleasure-ville.
So if you are looking for a satisfying erotic experience, know your partner's sun sign and begin your magic with the help of our quick-reference guide.
Aries: Face and Head
With impulsive sensuality, play with your Aries' hair, caress their face, graze their lips with yours, massage their head in your hands and blow warm kisses into their ears. There's no end to the head on possibilities with your ram.
Taurus: Neck and Throat
Take a flirty approach to kissing a Taurus around their neck from back to front. Rub their earlobes and cup your hand around the back or your partner's neck as you draw them close for long deep kisses.
Gemini: Hands, Arms, Shoulders
Playfully tease them with sensual foreplay, kissing their hands and stroking their fingers. Then gently run your fingers along the inside of their arm, making a pit stop for a lick or a nibble. Then, wrap their arms around you placing their hands at your pleasure.
Cancer: Chest or Breasts
With a sense of playful admiration, massage your Cancer lover's chest with gentle strokes. Then cover their most sensuous areas with warm wet kisses, long licks and warm deep breaths. They'll be willing, if you are, to play like this for hours.
Leo: Back
Massage your Leo's ego as you work your way around their back. Rub it, scratch it gently, massage it. Start with those sensitive touches before moving on to kisses, licks and lip bites that linger then climax at the very sensitive small of their back.
Virgo: Stomach
Stroke their mind with words of romantic foreplay as you stroke their stomach area lightly with your hair and fingertips. Then give them little nibbles at their sides and long licks and kisses around their belly button as their pleasure elevates to ecstasy.
Libra: Bottom
With a touch of drama and affection, turn your Libra onto their stomach and brush your body and intimate parts along their lower back. Gently caress their bottom with gentle strokes, pats and a trail of tongue flicks. Hold a cheek in your hand as the lovemaking moves on.
Scorpio: Sex Organs
With an erotic and inquisitive attitude, slowly pet the inner thighs working your way to your Scorpion's most sensitive areas with a light flickering of the tongue. Brush your erogenous zones against theirs remembering their inner thighs are the area around the upper pubic bone.
Sagittarius: Thighs
Rest your head in the warmth of your archer's inner thighs. Then with a sense of fun and teasing, massage the hips and thighs with warm oil, remembering to pleasurably stroke the inside of the thighs to light this fiery sign's senses to their utmost pleasure.
Capricorn: Knees
The shortcut to a goat's pleasure is to kiss them gently, lovingly behind their knees. Run your hands along their sensitive lower back, working your way down the back of their legs, or run a length of kisses from their navel to their kneecaps. Cup one hand behind a knee as you kiss.
Aquarius: Calves and Ankles
Using your imagination for your most creative foreplay, kiss their legs from knees to ankles. Cup your hands around each leg, one at a time, and massage the area from top to bottom rubbing up and down in long sensuous strokes. When entwined, wrap your legs around theirs for complete satisfaction.
Pisces: Feet
Arouse your Pisces easily with a bit of theatrics as you work on your partner's feet. Massage them, kiss them from toes to ankles, suck them and cover them with love bites. Or, use a light touch or a feather to tickle their toes into a frenzy. Run your own feet over their body sensually for some oh's and ah's.

What's the secret to a long and happy marriage? We can look to the sky for a clue. As an astrologer one of the biggest questions I get is "when will I find the right person and how do I know if he/she is right for me?" Most people just look at their sun sign and wonder if they can be compatible with another person. Unfortunately, or hopefully luckily, there's more to finding a successful, lasting relationship than just knowing a person's sun sign.
When I do relationship readings for couples I compare several planets in a person's chart and how they interact. I am big on a person's sun and moon sign comparison and what houses they fall into in the others person's chart. The moon represents our emotions and how we feel about things plus it's a very karmic point. If your moon sign falls in your partners' 12th house and/or is near their ascendant that typically tells me that this isn't the first lifetime you've have shared together. It doesn't necessarily mean you will live happily ever after, but it does show that there is purpose and meaning and even some unfinished business that must be addressed in this lifetime.
Beyond the moon sign I compare a person's lunar node and how that may interact with the other person's sun or moon sign, since, again, the node is another indication of past life experiences together. Knowing your time of birth is very important when it comes to knowing if a relationship has staying power, because where your planets line up in your partners natal houses further shows how the energy of that planet will be expressed.
Of course we want to compare our Venus' (the planet of love) and Mars (the planet that rules our sexuality and drive). If these planets are compatible in air signs it may show that you have a great ability to communicate well with each other. In fire signs, it may indicate your relationship is very sexually driven with a lot of excitement. In water signs, you feel very intuitive with this person.
As far as longevity for the relationship, it's always important to compare the person's Saturn and Venus because these two planets together represent our karma and our love. If we look at charts of Paul Newman and Joanne Woodward, who are one of Hollywood's longest lasting marriages we will see that his Venus is conjunct her Saturn in Capricorn in her 12th house and his Saturn makes a trine to her Venus in water signs.
No one knows for certain how long a relationship will endure, but having the right planet alignment is essential for any potential compatibility and longevity. Click HERE for a quick (and FREE) compatibility check, and find out if your relationship is destined to be love or lust, a fun fling or for life.
Eliot Spitzer and is wife Silda are ruled by opposite signs of the zodiac. He's a duplicitous Gemini, and she's an intelligent, free-spirited Sagittarius. But though opposites attract, will the current storm they're facing together ultimately force them apart?
Eliot Spitzer, born on June 10, 1959 appeared to be blessed astrologically with all of the fire and air in his chart. With his Sun and Mercury in the sign of Gemini, Eliot has a great ability to outwit people with his communication skills, getting them to give him what he wants. With his Venus, Mars and Uranus (and possibly his moon) in Leo, it gives him the charm and charisma to get people eating out of his hands.
Inwardly this man has a very huge ego and always questions himself on what he really wants. He came into this life like the wolf in sheep's clothing, where in past lives he was ruthless and controlling. One of his biggest challenges this time around is to learn how to balance and develop relationships. Realizing this, makes me wonder what the real deal is in his union with his own wife, Silda Wall Spitzer, born December 12, 1957.
It doesn't appear that the two of them are very sexually compatible. I feel Silda is the brains in this relationship. She is also the one who is intent on creating the perfect public image so the world doesn't really know what is going on behind closed doors between the both of them. I feel her lack of intimacy and her inability to express herself emotionally is what led Eliot into the arms of an escort service. He's a man who needs and seeks a lot of attention and he wasn't getting it at home. So with his power, influence and ego he went after the unobtainable, or in this case, the forbidden.
So why now, why the fall from grace for the Spitzer family? Both Eliot and Silda have a very difficult aspect transiting in their birth charts. Both are experiencing the planet Saturn crossing over their natal Pluto in the sign of Virgo. Saturn rules karma, Pluto's gig is all about death and regeneration, and Virgo is all about truth. My take on this is that Eliot and Silda need a lot of soul searching and healing in order to understand what drove their marriage to this level. This could be the one relationship in recent years that has experienced sexual scandal, that doesn't stand the test of time. Unlike many other political relationships, Silda doesn't need Eliot to gain the professional success she is capable of achieving on her own.
A new survey has revealed that Librans are the unluckiest drivers, suffering more breakdowns than those born under any other star sign. The research was done by the R.A.C., a British motoring organization that is similar to America's Auto Club. Pisceans were the luckiest drivers, experiencing over 40,000 less breakdowns than unlucky Librans.
The survey also revealed that Brits are more likely to know the laws of the zodiac than the rules of the road. Of those surveyed, 42% admitted to reading their horoscope in the past year, while just 12% had read the Highway Code (the UK equivalent to our Drivers Handbook).
Drivers who are willing to tempt fate, at least where their license plate is concerned, are also among the luckiest however. The report noted that, "registrations that include the number '13' are 25% less likely to break down than average" and that "cars with '666' in the number plate are 15% less likely to break down than average."
While being bad news for Libran NASCAR diver Dale Earnhardt, Jr., this survey may indicate an unexpected upside for devil-worshiping witches who drive.

I recently came across a book called The Complete Idiot's Guide to Sextrology written by astrologer and clairvoyant Megan Skinner. With love in the air and romance on our minds as we quickly approach Valentine's Day, I thought it might be a nice treat to share with my readers what we are all looking and hoping for when it comes to "sex". The following excerpts are from Megan's book, which may help you gain a little insight into your mate's sextrology.
Aries (3/21-4/20): Rams want to be first in everything they do. They are dare-devils in life and love. They have strong will and can be very aggressive about getting what they want. They are impulsive lovers and are ruled by their instincts. Act now and think later is their motto. Rams have strong sex drives and make fearless lovers. They are open and honest about their feelings, if an Aries wants to be with you, you will know it - because he or she will tell you. They can be a little bossy in the bedroom, although they may not be well versed in the finer nuances of making love. The secret to seducing an Aries is to let them be the pursuer.
Leo (7/23-8/22): Leos are true divas of the zodiac; they love to be the center of attention. They are ambitious by nature and have big dreams. They love making others feel special. Leos are optimists and see the best in everyone. In love and lust - the romance, the passion and the excitement is everything to them. They have big emotions and rarely hesitate to express them. They love showering you with gifts as a way of showing you their affection. Once you get past the external theatrics, you can expect real passion and generosity from a Leo lover.
Sagittarius (11/22-12/22): Sagittarians live large and have a big appetite for life. These independent souls are always on the hunt for new adventures. They are the seekers of higher truth and wisdom. They love to learn and travel. There's too much in life to worry about the small details. They can be the jack of all trades and have an opinion about everything. In love they are flirtatious and fun. It is difficult to capture their heart, which stems from their notorious fear of commitment. They are uncomfortable with expressing their emotions and are more likely to show their affection through actions rather than words. Seducing a Sag is not that difficult; they are always up for a good time and they are most likely attracted to an outgoing person and someone who can make them laugh. Top it off with a little flattery and he/she is all yours!

Yes, we all know "lookism" is wrong, and that sexism, ageism or racism can quickly lead to a lawsuit. But what happens if you stumble across someone who's a Libraist (perhaps because their Libra boy/girlfriend weighed up their options and recently dumped them) or a Pisces-hater (because they're allergic to fish?). Is it okay to refuse employment on the basis of a person's sun sign?
I recently spoke with a woman whose one-time potential employer was more interested in her astrological sign than in anything else about her. Indeed, the identity of her sign was the very first question she was asked during their interview. Without thinking, she self identified as an Aries and promptly lost the opportunity.
Want to avoid a similar slip up? For a handy, if one-dimensional, primer on the salient personality traits of the various signs, check out this short film by comic filmmaker Ben Loka. His star and planet-studded take on the old "How many ______ does it take to screw in a light bulb?" joke succeeds at capturing the essence of the zodiacal signs. More than that, it makes us laugh. Let's just hope they're eco-friendly light bulbs Ben and his pals are busy installing.
There is a lot of planetary energy concurring now in the cosmos. To begin with, Mars, which is the planet of aggression, war, sexuality, and energy, has been retrograde since November 15, 2007, and is going direct in motion today, January 30, 2008. When a planet retrogrades, it appears to move backwards, and energy can be thwarted, projects can come to an impasse, and people can sometimes recede in relationships. The good news is that now that Mars, the action planet, is going direct, there should be a big burst of energy, and energy is the definition of the month of February. We can expect a lot of action this coming month.
As Mars goes direct, Mercury, the planet of communication, is going to retrograde in the sign of Aquarius. The sign of Aquarius rules technology, gadgets, and the internet, and Mercury will be retrograde in the sign of Aquarius from January 28 until February 19. When Mercury is in retrograde, I often hear clients complain about problems with their computers, cars, lost objects, wrong phone numbers, arguments and miscommunication. With Mercury in retrograde in the sign of Aquarius, this is doubly true, at least on the gadget end, so it's best to be patient and be forewarned.
Another big motion to add to the mix is the two major eclipses in the month of February: A solar eclipse in Aquarius on February 6 at 10:56 EST, and a total lunar eclipse in Virgo on February 20 at 10:27 pm EST. The solar eclipse in the sign axis of Aquarius/Leo evokes a new series of eclipses in these signs, which will continue through January 26 of 2010. A Solar eclipse occurs when the moon stands between the sun and earth, cutting off the light of the sun. A total solar eclipse always involves a new moon, and such eclipses tend to bring in new beginnings. Solar eclipse new moons are extra powerful, and they bring in hope and new beginnings for projects, relationships, and goals to which we apply ourselves. Manifest the energy as a new beginning in your life. The fact that this new beginning occurs in the sign of Aquarius, which also rules groups and friendships, and is on the axis of Leo, which rules fun and romance, should be considered a gift from the universe, a time to make new changes in your social life.
Mercury Retrograde. You've seen the term here before, whether elucidating a news event, or empathizing over electrical annoyances. In simplest terms, Mercury Retrograde is a three week period, occurring three times a year, in which the planet Mercury appears to reverse direction due to the combined motion of the Earth, Mercury, and the Sun. As a general rule, this means you'd best back up your computers, allot extra travel time, and brace for three weeks of miscommunication. (And if you don't believe in this stuff? Do it anyway. That's how I learned.)
As this Mercury Retrograde, spanning from January 28 to February 19, falls in Aquarius, particular attention should be paid to anything digital. Which is no small shakes, given Mercury's propensity for rattling all things electronic when in any retrograde. So if you're considering gifting a Valentine's Day I-Pod, for example, best to make that purchase, well, now - keeping in mind the first and last days of Mercury Retrograde are particularly potent. Same goes for assembling any new electronics you may have received over the holidays. Also, if you are an Aquarian or if Aquarius features heavily in your chart, anticipate particular introspection with these delays.
Obviously, we can't all bring our lives to a grinding halt each time Mercury retrogrades, but if you're looking at any red flag activities during this period - such as signing a contract or buying a car - taking the time to review details and seek second opinions until Mercury turns direct would be astrologically prudent.
What can you do over the next few weeks? Mercury Retrograde marks an excellent time for revisiting old projects, solidifying plans already in motion, and double-checking details. Two eclipses - on February 6th and 20th - will fall under Mercury Retrograde's influence, so best to see what news they bring before you move forward anyway. Think of the next couple weeks as a research period, with the decision-making time to follow. You're already at an advantage just knowing this period exists; so grant extra patience to the friends and colleagues struggling against the same hurdles without any idea as to why. And then maybe treat yourself to a reread of an old favorite book, or visit a nostalgia-laden restaurant. With Valentine's Day just around the corner, revisiting favorite memories and locations could be the perfect solution. Just because Pluto transitioned from "planet" to "minor planet 134340" back in 2006, don't think Pluto's astrological influence has been downgraded. In fact, as though to prove its ongoing relevance, Pluto will be provoking sizable transition across the zodiac, beginning this Friday, January 25th.
As the most remote planet (er, minor planet) in our solar system, Pluto takes roughly 246 years to cycle through the zodiac. But don't let this slowness fool you: Pluto's lengthy stay in each house only heightens its influence. In fact, the last time Pluto was in Capricorn our nation transitioned through the American Revolution!
So, what do you need to know to make the most of this astrological shift? The house on which Pluto will be exerting this new influence will vary from sign to sign, but some factors are constant. Pluto in Capricorn rules power (and the misuse of power), money, authority, regeneration, and renewal. Behaviorally, Pluto demands a passionate, all-or-nothing attitude toward our endeavors and transitions - which will be sizable. But don't fret! Pluto excels in shaking foundations, but won't leave you hanging when it's time to rebuild. This is a slow-moving (minor) planet encouraging extensive questioning; whatever renewals you experience will be well-planned.
Which brings us to those transitions: Pluto first enters Capricorn on January 25th, but will retrograde to tidy up its previous Sagittarian stay for a few months before resettling into Capricorn for the long haul in November. This means you will have some time to get a grasp on Pluto's routine before the transitions really kick in. To see how Pluto in Capricorn will impact your sign specifically, the Daily Mantra recommends you click HERE to sign up for a free daily horoscope.
Of course, Pluto's transition into Capricorn extends well beyond the personal realm, and given that Capricorn also rules government and political leaders, this year's election falls directly within Pluto's polarizing power. The Daily Mantra's advice is to follow your Pluto-activated ethical core, and exercise the active participation enhanced by Pluto in Capricorn. After all, astrology provides blueprints, not guarantees. It's up to us to decide how actively (and ethically) Pluto's power is wielded.

Yule, Christmas, Chanukah, Kwanza; 'Tis the multiple holiday season, and you're likely up to your ears in eggnog-fueled celebration. Sometimes the seasonal frenzy can be so intense as to eclipse the more thought-provoking origins and intentions of our festivities. Fortunately we have a benevolent Full Moon in Cancer on December 23rd to refresh the holiday spirit and remind us of the goodwill and charity at this season's core.
Cancer is the sign of emotional healing and consideration for others over oneself. A Full Moon in Cancer intensifies these aspects, while the North Node in Aquarius / South Node in Leo remind us of our responsibility to the greater good, releasing any stagnant selfishness. December 23rd also marks the one day this year when the moon is in its ruling sign, opening our hearts and pushing us toward charitable action.
How best to honor all this loving lunar energy? Well, if you're struggling with a relationship, the Cancer Full Moon activates emotional healing and truthfulness, helping you to love yourself and others, even in trying times. Family members will feel this moon most strongly, making December 23rd an excellent day for compassionate forgiveness and the acceptance of responsibility. No relationship or familial difficulties? The Full Moon in Cancer also encourages you to shower the primary caregiver in your home or family with appreciation. And of course, any charitable action will shine on this day, so if you haven't finished your holiday shopping, consider charitable contributions.
If you're still not ready to give this non-holiday a gold star, there's one more aspect that might push you over the edge: December 23rd is the one day this year when Jupiter and the Sun meet in conjunction (this year in Capricorn). This combination makes December 23rd the luckiest day of the year for all signs of the zodiac, adding extra sparkle and energy to your charitable Full Moon efforts. It may not be an official holiday, but this Full Moon certainly has the spirit!
The joys and stress of the Holiday season are upon us once again. A lot of important aspects are coming up, so it's time to pay attention. First of all, we're beginning to feel the energy of Jupiter, which represents growth, opportunity, and abundance, starting to pair up with Pluto, the planet of power, transformation, endings and beginnings. This aspect, known as a conjunction, occurs when the planets are at the exact same degree. Both are in the sign of Sagittarius, which rules religion, philosophy, and ideologies.
This Jupiter/Pluto conjunction occurs approximately every 13 years. The last time this aspect occurred was in 1994 in the sign of Scorpio, which among other things rules the stock market and investments, and the market was doing very well during 1994-1995. When Jupiter and Pluto come together, it is a time of great financial prosperity, success, achievement, and abundance. This is an auspicious time for Sagittarians, particularly those born during the last few days of Sagittarius.
Since this combination is in the sign of Sagittarius, which is ruled by Jupiter, the planet of optimism; hopefully, it will help bring renewal of hope and less hatred. We're starting to feel the energy now, as the planets are within one degree, but, it becomes exact on December 9th, which incidentally is the new moon in Sagittarius, and it will linger through December 18th.
An even more monumental event is going to occur on January 26, 2008, when Pluto enters the sign of Capricorn. Pluto rules and influences the masses. Pluto has been in the sign of Sagittarius since 1995. Since then, there have been great religious wars, big debates over issues of separation of church and state at schools and universities, and prejudice and hatred have pervaded the world.
Capricorn rules government, institutions, and big corporations. In the last couple of years, as Pluto has gotten closer to the sign of Capricorn, our society has started to seem more Orwellian, as people are able to trace others through GPS and obtain personal information over the internet. When Pluto enters the sign of Capricorn next year, issues of personal invasion and privacy might become more problematic. Pluto will return to the sign of Sagittarius in the middle of June through November 28, 2008, but, this January, with Pluto entering the sign of Capricorn, is going to mark beginning of a new era.
One other thing to mention is that Jupiter, the luckiest planet, is also going to be going into the sign of Capricorn on December 18th, and it will remain in the sign of Capricorn through January 5, 2009. Capricorns can expect a lot of growth and expansion in this upcoming year.
One final note: remember to practice the Law of Abundance ritual on this particularly magical new moon in Sagittarius on December 9th at 12:40 pm EST. The instructions for the ritual are as follows: Take a blank check and date it for the date of the new moon. Print out your name, where it says "Pay to the order of," and then leave the small numeric box blank. On the next line, print "PAID IN FULL," and at the bottom where you normally sign your name, print "THE LAW OF ABUNDANCE." This is a way for the universe to bring you abundance and gifts. Blessings and good luck to you.

I know. Many of us feel like we’re still digesting Thanksgiving dinner (and with all those leftovers, some of us likely are). We’ve been inundated with post-Thanksgiving sales, and the kitchen may very well still be a mess. At a glance, maybe it’s not the best time for further social gallivanting? Well, the Gemini Full Moon would like you to reconsider.
For Pagan and Wiccan traditions honoring both a Goddess and a God, the cycles of the moon served both as clock and representation of the more female, mystical elements. (The 13 yearly moon cycles contribute to the “magic” associated with this number.) The Full Moon represented the Goddess at her fullest and most powerful, and is therefore a day of potent magical energy and psychic attunement. A closer look at other astrological factors can elucidate where and how this energy is best directed.
Saturday, November 24th at 6:29am PST marks a Full Moon in Gemini – and a festive second kick-off to the winter’s holiday season. While your personal astrological sign impacts your individual horoscope, the following trends are applicable to us all:
A Gemini Moon is a perfect time to address communication, creativity, networking, and sociability. To make best use of these factors, maybe host a social gathering among friends as balance to what is often a family-heavy Thanksgiving holiday. You might expand your networking circle and fill the room with diverse perspectives, as the Gemini Full Moon is a fantastic time for study and philosophy, and that wonderful Gemini lightheartedness should keep disagreements at bay. Just be careful! While airy Gemini is great for celebration, this moon can also be a little unpredictable, a fact heightened by the opposing Sun in Sagittarius. So if the recent holidays have rattled you, or a large gathering feels like a stretch, embark instead on an evening of heartfelt bonding with trusted friends. Whatever the venue, socialization this Saturday is sure to satisfy.
“Planning something unique and out of the ordinary is right up your alley," says Daily Mantra astrologer Maria. “Lots of research on the internet followed by constant checking of email on your traveling companion, your PDA is your ideal way of being on vacation. No matter where you go or what you do your intellect must be stimulated.”
The Daily Mantra recommends the out-of-the-ordinary destination of Leh, a small town in the Indian state of Ladakh, for Aquarians. You can research all you like before you go, but little can prepare you for the experience of life in the Himalayas.
Your flight will take you over a landscape that seems to have been carved out of sand. Small pockets of vegetation and water appear in the valleys, like the Shangri-La of legend. When you land, you may not notice the effect of the altitude at first, but soon you may feel your breathing become labored, and your head begin to ache. For those unaccustomed to high altitudes, you will want to walk as if you are in slow motion, heightening the effect of being on another planet as you look out over the alien landscape.
The majority of Leh’s population is Buddhist, with a significant minority Muslim presence dating back to the annexation of the once autonomous region by Kashmir in the mid-19th century. The Dalai Lama has a summer home in Leh known as Photang Palace, although his permanent home is in Dharamsala. There are grounds nearby for him to address his many followers in the region. Be sure to wake up early to attend the morning prayers at the nearest of many monasteries, Thikse Monastery. The 12 story complex contains numerous stupas, statues, wall paintings, swords and a large pillar engraved with the Buddha's teachings as well as sacred shrines.
Visit the ruins of the Leh Palace to get a sense of history and to look over the Valley’s architecture amidst the imposing mountains. Then make it a point to venture up to Khardung La, one of the world’s highest motorable passes. At 18,380 feet, you stand surrounded by snow, looking down on a desert.
A trip to the Himalayas will remind you of the strength of the human spirit and give you a new appreciation for gentler landscapes and the variety available on Planet Earth.
